Predictive Process Adjustment by Detecting System Status of Vacuum Gripper in Real Time during Pick-Up Operations

In manufacturing systems, pick-up operations by vacuum grippers may fail owing to errors in an object’s surface that are within the allowable tolerance limits. such situations, manual interference is required resume system operation, which results considerable loss of time as well economic losses. Although have many advantages and widely used industry, it highly difficult directly monitor current machine status provide appropriate recovery feedback for stable operation. Therefore, this paper proposes a method detect success or failure suction operation advance analyzing amount outlet air pressure Venturi line. This was achieved installing sensor on line predict whether action will be successful. Through empirical experiments, found downward movements z-axis gripper can easily rectify faulty Real-time monitoring verified predictive process adjustment performed modifying z-position gripper.
